Landscape Construction - Retaining Walls & Patio Stones

Job Description

 

Mountains Edge Construction has been doing landscaping, concrete, and snow removal in Calgary and area for over 15 years. Owners Randy and Dave have established a strong reputation in the community and have managed to retain many long-term employees. Currently we are looking to add a landscape construction labourer to help with landscaping and other construction work during the spring, summer, and fall.

We are looking for a candidate that has specific experience installing retaining walls, pre-cast stones and patio stones. The person hired for this role must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. They also must maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment. To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the listed job tasks below.



Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Job Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Construction of retaining walls and patios using all types of pre-cast stones, natural stone and/or pavers.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions/plans outlined for each job

  • Creating/following layouts for construction activities on site

  • Prep and compact base to prepare for installation of walls and patios

  • Install drainage systems

  • Competent with cut-off saw

Requirements

  • Bobcat/skid steer experience is consider an asset

  • Experience installing all types of stone and able to provide references of passed work

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driver abstract.

  • Transportation to and from our shop located in the South Foothills Industrial area off of Barlow near Glenmore
